Frederick William Fisch: A good man passed away today at 8:45 AM. Fred (my dad's uncle) was a wonderful person who loved life and gave all that he could. He served his country with honor during World War II as reconnaissance during the Battle of the Bulge. I loved to hear the stories that he would tell us about his experiences. He will always be remembered.

Harrowing Train Trip

My in-laws left earlier this week for what was supposed to be a wonderful trip on the American Orient Express. They left on Tuesday for Tucson, AZ and from there, they were to take a bus to the train, just on the other side of the Mexican border, where they would hop on the train. That went flawless. Once they borded the train, they headed south to their first destination. However, during the salad portion of dinner, the middle 4 or 5 cars derailed, causing many people to shift throughout the cars and causing some minor injuries. Fortunately, minor injuries was all there was and my in-laws were unharmed. Unfortunately, their trip was cut short at that point and they got back to Houston yesterday afternoon. They took us to dinner at their favorite chinese restaurant to thank us for watching Ashley while they were out of town. I got this fortune: You believe in the goodness of mankind.

I'm thinking about moving over to Bloggerâ„¢ for my blogging needs... Will test it out for a while and see what I think. I'm not completely satisfied with MSN Spaces right now, so I wanted to try something different.
